Vehicle Description
The Ford F-series trucks have been some of the best-selling and most renowned work horses of all time. Perhaps the most common sighted F-trucks of yesteryear are those from 1980-1997. Maybe these are the best of the Fs, maybe its because Ford used the same body shell from 1980 until they went for a full redesign in 1997. The ninth generation started in 1992 with the first major facelift since 1987. The ninth generation F-trucks have garnered a cult following, and finding one in great shape is quite an achievement these days. This 1996 F-250 XLT is properly appointed, with many desirable attributes. Despite the age of the truck and the nature of the work it appears to have been equipped to do, it remains in fantastic overall condition with only a few minor defects. The exterior is clean and straight with only a couple of dings/small dents and is far from beat up. Rust? Never heard of it! This 250 spent most of its life in Arizona. You won't find any cancerous tin worm on this puppy. Even the bed is in good shape, with only minor dings showing through the bed liner. The interior shows minor wear on "touch items" such as the door handles, vent knobs, and steering wheel, but is in otherwise excellent condition. The driver's seat shows a very small amount of wear, but all of the soft goods including the seats are in great overall condition and have many years of good use ahead of them. With 103,564 actual miles, it is apparent that this F-250 has seen years of care and maintenance. Under the hood is a 460 V8; that's right, she's gas! Many F-250s of this generation seem to be diesel, so it's fun to see one that is gas-powered. The engine purrs like this truck has 100,000 less miles on it, and it drives just how it should. The 460 may not be a Powerstroke, but it'll surely put enough power down to haul your fifth wheel trailer just fine! The engine bay is clean and complete, showing just how unmolested this truck is. When you were looking at how clean the interior is, did you notice the shifter? Yep, this truck is a 5-speed manual! All the more interesting, and sure to give you a more hands-on towing experience. If you're after a clean, old-school tow rig that won't break down (and won't break the bank!) this is likely the truck for you. With proper maintenance, this F-250 is sure to give many, many more years of use.
