THE VEHICLE OFFERED While America was producing cars like the Ford Mustang and the Chevy Camaro Germany was assembling its Iconic and timeless, air cooled, Porsche 911. In 1996 Porsche was producing high quality cars like the all wheel drive 911 4S or powerful turbo. But for some, that wasn’t enough. In 2001 this US market 4S Carrera was sent to the most exclusive tuning company in Pfaffenhausen, Germany where a company called RUF had their way with it. Using their expertise this 993 saw exterior, interior, and mechanical modifications. Most importantly they transformed the engine from a 282 horespower unit in to a 420 hp animal. This was achieved by the addition of their RUF BTR engine conversion (RUF engine #993BTR032.) Inspired by the GT2 the 4S was converted to a light weight rear wheel drive system. RUF coil-overs, brakes, wheels, mirrors, turbo S spoiler, turbo S steel rear fenders, front and rear bumpers, HID headlights, a coveted fully integrated roll cage, shift knob, steering wheel, gauges, door sills, floor mats, and finally a tartan and hounds tooth interior with sport seats were installed. This is one very euro, and very fast car. The exterior presents as you would expect a car of this caliber. There are no scratches, dents, dings, or paint issues. The interior is just as nice too with classic Porsche ergonomics, and flawless materials. The radio is powered however it does not function and would need to be replaced. It does have heated seats and they are power adjustable too. This car impresses even the most dedicated Porsche enthusiast and comes from a list of careful previous owners.
