Vehicle Description
I will be the first to confess that I am not a Corvette guy. At 6’4” and 260, I just don’t fit. But surprisingly, I am very comfortable in this car. I was amazed at the leg and head room! This car came as a trade from a long-time customer. His passion is old hot rods and Harleys. He traded a Harley that he customized to a man from Florida to get this Vette. He traded it to me for a hotrod 47 Ford coupe. This car lived in Florida its entire life except for the past six months. I would guess it was driven year around. If I lived in Florida, I would drive a cool car all year long. It has 114,000 miles on it. Yes, that sounds like a lot, but it is really only 6000 miles per year over the 19 year life span of the car. The paint is fantastic. Too good for a 19 year old car. Upon close inspection, I am sure that the car was repainted. The seats and carpet are very nice. The dash has heaved due to the Florida heat. It has been covered with an overlay. Recently, the starter and battery were replaced. One headlight mechanism was replaced, so they both work perfectly now. The serpentine belt was replaced as were the spark plugs. The car was just serviced. The tires are very close to new. The factory stereo was replaced with an Alpine. I found cables in the rear storage area that help me believe it may have had an amplifier and some speakers. But the Florida owner was an older fellow, so I am not sure what that signifies. This is a coupe with the removable roof panels. It is covered in black cloth and looks great. I have heard many compliments. Is that a factory option or was it done afterwards? This car has the Z51 sport suspension and 3.15 rear axle gearing. Combined with the 4L60E overdrive transmission and the great 347 cubic inch LS1, this should be an economical car to drive. But when you put your foot into it, the power of the LS1 is evident. There are options like the tilt and telescopic steering column, sounds system and seating. The sound system was changed and I have no clue why. While the car runs and drives great, there are some issues that need to be disclosed. There are no key fobs. The parking brake is not holding. The air bag light is on. The fuel gauge reads empty, even when the tank is full. There are no spare or jack. This is a great looking car that is fun to drive. It is priced at a very low level as compared to when it was new. I hope you realize the amount of fun and miles left in such a great car
