The GTB can hit 60 mph in a Ferrari-claimed 3 seconds flat and has a top speed of 205 mph. The Ferrari 488 Spider does something that many spider variants can't: match the coupe variant's performance numbers. Ferrari claims that the 110-pound heavier Spider can hit 60 mph in the same amount of time (3.0 seconds) as the 488 GTB. The Spider top drops down in 14 seconds and can be opened or closed at speeds up to 28 mph. "Unlike other convertibles that can't hang with their hardtop brothers, the 488 Spider matches the 488 GTB in nearly every way. The only difference is who owns it," we said in a First Test review. The racing versions of the 488 GTB are the 488 GTE and 488 GT3; both use the same 3.9-liter twin-turbo V-8 from the GTB.
