Vehicle Description
First, this is not a numbers matching car. Second, I wasn't sure how many pics I could post on Craigslist, so I created a web site to help showcase the car and give me the ability to show more pics. You can view more details, pictures and videos at a site I created specifically to sell this car:
I you don't want to go there the description of the car is below.
1966 well cared for Mustang Convertible. I purchase the car a few years ago from the man who owned it since 1970. The car was very well taken care of, stored in a garage and only driven a few times a year.
I haven't driven it as much as I should, but since I’ve owned it and has been a great driver.
The price is reflective of this not being a totally original, numbers matching car from the factory and some of the minor cosmetic blemishes. Although this car is not all original, all the upgrades were done with OEM period/year correct parts.
Mechanical:
Motor: Upgraded from the 6-cyl. to the 289,
The spindles were updated from the 4 lug to the 5 lugs,
This car does not have power steering.
Brakes were done prior to me purchasing the car.
Top is automatic and works as it should.
Cosmetic:
From what I was told by the previous owner the paint job is about 14-15 years old. The color still has a great flop to it when the sun hits it (Second Pic).
This car does not have any of the typical rot such as the torq boxes, floor pans, and rear quarters. Very clean and shows very well.
Interior is in decent condition with no rips or tears in the seats
Carpet has begun to show it’s age and is a little bit discolored from the sun.
Top is in excellent condition with no holes or rips with the exception of the back window.
Known Issue:
The only issue that I've had with the car is the back window. This spring the elastic part of the zipper that is used to zip the window in gave out.
