- safety high back middle row seats
- factory Land Rover waterproof front seat covers
- extra set of rear bottom cushions for 3 person rear bench jump seats (waterproof types)
- full set of safety inertia reel seatbelts for front and middle row seats
- bullbar bumper (rare 70s aftermarket overland sealed tube - can be an air tank or hold an oil change worth of oil)
- LT235/85R16 BFG AT tires (good tread remaining)
- Odyssey battery
- all fluids kept full and maintenance always done when needed
- everything works as it should
I’m probably forgetting a few things, but that’s the bulk of it. I built up this rig to haul my family around in it safely and comfortably. It still fits inside a standard garage. Non-smoker and no funky odors… nice and clean. I have addressed the usual weakest link vintage Land Rover issues (like beefing up the rear end and electrical stuff). This is an honest survivor rig and not some fully restored trailer queen. Doors, frame, and bulkhead are solid (no rust or rot). It has the typical scratches, dings, and dents of a 50 year old life lived. Typical oil weeps will grace your drip pan when sitting for over a week, but nothing serious or in need of attention. The rig has beautiful patina and I’m constantly complimented on it when I’m out in it. It also has a rich history as it was used at a real Safari Game Park rig back in the 80s. I should also mention it won 1st place at the Portland All British Field Meet one year (so it has some real genuine peer street cred). ;)
These early Series Land Rover rigs predates the later more complicated Defender models. The beauty of an old LandRover is its simplicity and durability. It will definitely outlast you. And like the vintage Land Cruiser , Scout , Bronco , and Jeep … will only increase in value.
I’m pricing this at $28,000 to sell it more quickly. You’ll be hard-pressed to find another so nicely appointed and sorted at this price. I’d like to have it sold before the end of the month. I’m not interested in any help selling this and I’m not interested in trades. Please only inquire if you’re prepared to purchase in full. Let’s be respectful of each other’s time. Thank you.
