Vehicle Description
I have a very nice work truck that has served me well. Looking to go newer with crew cab. This truck is in great condition. This is a 2 wheel drive truck with heavy duty springs in the back. This has the 4.8L V-8. Recently had the following work done to it:
New Windshield
New front brakes with drilled and slotted rotors
New front wheel bearings (GM)
New front shocks
New rear brakes, drilled and slotted rotors, painted calipers, new emergency brakes and cables
New rear wheel bearings, seals differential rebuilt
New trailer plug with both flat and round plugs. Also wired for reverse lights.
New Break controller
New oil pan with pick up tun and gasket. Truck has 60-70 pounds of oil pressure
New rear main seal
New fuel lines from the tank to engine (lines were over $500, required removing the transmission
New door pins
New power steering cooler
New cabin filter
New tensor and belt for A/C
New Throttle position sensor
Recent alignment
Brake lines were replaced by prior owner
Shift cable done by prior owner
Trans oil has been changed twice in the last 6K miles, I didn't like the color
New A/C, condenser, compressor, dryer orifice
Engine coolant was changed 2/21
Oil recently done with oil pan (last 500 miles)
Rocker panel covers have been installed. Both sides had rust holes on the outer panel. Inner panel was in great shape. Inner rocker was treated with rust stopping paint prior to the covers being put on.
Cab corners are original and are perfect.
Cab is in good to great condition with various dents.
The truck bed is very solid. No rust on cross members. Wheel wells have some bubbles in the paint but no holes. Inner wheels are completely intact. The bed does have numerous dents. Prior owner had a dumper in the back, I am guessing he wasn't good at operating the tractor.
The frame and cross members are in very good condition with very light surface rust.
Cab mounts are 100%
It does have a few issues:
Cabin light doesn't work. There is a short somewhere.
One of the radio speakers goes in and out.
The trailering switch on the shifter does not work. This changes the shift points. Rear bumper is starting to rust. Front bumper is rust free but has a few dents.
This truck is in great overall condition for age and mileage (195K), very reliable truck. Tows a dual axle trailer with 3-4000 pounds very well. It sits for months and always starts. Has the usual "Vortec" ticking at startup. Interior is clean with one hole in the drivers seat. I have and will share all documentation. I bought this as a weekend truck and now want one for my daily driver.
If you can't tell I have OCD. If something isn't working correctly I replace it. That being said the check engine light has intermittent come one. The code is for the up stream O2 sensor on bank one. In keeping with my OCD I have both the upstream and down stream sensors that will go wit the truck. I also have new rear shocks that I was going to do with the O2 sensor.
