1996 GM GMT400 Short Bed Reg Cab 2WD Chevy Silverado 1500
Bought and enjoyed by its current owner about 15 years ago. Through the years, slowly wanted to build up to the smoothest and funnest sport truck he could build.
Though the years he added: Edelbrock Shorties Headers, Magnaflow Cats / Y-Pipe, Magnaflow Cat Back Exhaust, 1.6 Roller Rockers, Throttle Body Spacer, Cold Air Flow Intake / Filter. these were added to give the mighty 350ci / 5.7L a little more - ooph !
To give the truck the right stance, the suspension was lowered using Western Chassis parts: 2" Front Spindles, 1" Lowering Springs and 4" Lowering Springs in the rear. New Biltein shocks all the way around. Finished off with a set of Boyds Wheels and new rubber.
The overall mechanicals of this truck are top notch ! Always maintained as recommended- oil changes, fluid changes, tune ups.etc. The automatic transmission started to age and slip, instead of replacement, it was pulled and rebuilt by a professional shop and also upgraded with stronger and better than factory bands and clutches. Stock, factory rear was stout enough with 3.55's and posi-traction. New Front Disc Brakes.
The interior is all factory with average wear. No signs of neglect, abuse or ever being smoked in. Working gauges with no check engine / service engine lights. Working HVAC- cold ac, warm heat. Factory radio / cd player still works as it should.
The obvious - the factory GM paint is showing its age with peeling clear / paint on hood and roof. Because the current owner owns and runs a few business's, including contractor and the sad story of needing help with employees, it came to the point where his " toy " had to be put to work. Now looking to sell the truck to free up funds for the business. The floors, undercarriage, rockers, frame, frame mounts and firewall- all solid, outside of some minor rust on the passenger side rocker.
Overall, these trucks are only increasing in value and collectibility !
Clean title in hand.
Shipping available if needed.
