Vehicle Description
(Kelly Blue book isabout $6500. It was about $32,000 new.)
This is a Mitsubishi MiEV 2012.
We love this car. expected to keep it at least another 10 years. I will miss it.
Only reason we're selling is my wife fell in love with a new Chevy Bolt electric car.mainly because she wants all the latest electronic safety features such as blind-spot warning.and likes the idea of more range. We don't need two EVs.
This model is not as well known as the Nissan Leaf EV, but in in some ways superior.
(If maybe you flirted with the idea of an electric car but haven't looked close, note there's a lot more advantage to an electric car than the obvious. The obvious thing being that the out of pocket cost of driving it is equivalent to owning a gas car that gets about 300 miles per gallon. And you drive right by gas pumps no matter how high the gas price gets.
One of the many hidden advantages is all the things an EV DOESN'T have. It has no ignition system, exhaust system, fuel system, pollution control system, lubrication system, or transmission. In short there's a huge hidden savings in repairs and maintenance it never needs. And because it has so few moving parts they are generally super reliable.)
Pros:
It's the Mitsubishi i-MiEV ES model (the top of the two model line up.)
2012 with 43,800 miles. Purchased new in 2013 April. One owner, me.
Always driven and maintained (hardly any is needed) with TLC.
Battery charging and care with TLC.
(That is we never fully drain the battery and usually only charge it up to 90% capacity)
Battery has shown hardly any loss of capacity in the 8 years we've owned it.
Always garaged.
Third party upgraded charger that works on either 120v or 240volts.
All three recalls completed.
Almost new tires on it.
Great car for driving around Rogue valley.
White with blue trim.
Remarkable amount of usable space in small four seat hatchback design.
Can be pre-cooled and preheated while connected to house power, with remote control.
Great visibility and great sports handling and acceleration.
CONS:
Realistically, you shouldn't COUNT on more than 65 miles round trip range. (We once got 125 miles but would never count on that.)
Maximum speed 80mph.
In my opinion its unsuitable for long trips, even with plenty of charging stations on the route.
