Vehicle Description
This is one of 364 XJS coupes imported to North America in 1995. There are less coupes than convertibles produced. 1995 was the last year of production for the coupe. It has a 4.0 Liter inline 6 cylinder (AJ16 engine). Computer governed at 149 mph. This was the last year the grand touring coupe received the Jaguar inline 6 cylinder. It is considered by some to be the most reliable jag engine ever made. Many have 200,000 miles. The transmission is a robust 4 speed automatic made by the German manufacture ZF Transmissions. I have owned and driven this car for over a decade. I put the majority of the miles on it. It runs and drives well. Has newer tires and front brakes. I changed the fluids over the years, kept it clean, and out of the weather. I mainly just drive it on nice days.
The following items could use attention:
Ac has not worked for years I never had it looked at and removed belt when the new alternator was installed.
Oil Cooler was bypassed but still on the car
The auxiliary cooling fan has been wired to a manual switch in the ash tray
It could use a new set of rack bushings as all vintage jaguars do.
The valve cover seal needs replaced due to seepage.
The lighter was lost by a date a while back
The drivers seat has a repair.
The hood could use a respray due to a few blemishes
The hood liner was removed
A few heat cracks on one of the wood veneer panels
Power antenna needs a gear
Will it become the next E-TYPE? Probably since I'm listing it! They are only going up in price$$$ Its a rare cat, signal red with cream interior. Owning this semi-exotic car is driving a piece of history and a life style that only 115,413 owners have ever experienced (total production in 21yrs). I have a carfax on it that checks out. The registration is current and its inspected in PA until 6-2021. The mileage is going up since the weather is nice and it will be driven.
