Vehicle Description
1995 Grand Cherokee Limited * 4.0 inline six cylinder * automatic trans * 4 wheel drive *
THIS HAS A "PREVIOUS DAMAGE" TITLE !!!
We bought this Jeep in winter 06/07 with only 74,000 miles. It had been hit in the right taillight with minimal damage. I replaced the rear bumper, hitch, liftgate, right taillight, and 1/2 of the rear quarter panel. The quarter glass is original, it did not even get damaged. It was my wife's daily driver for about 10 years. After that it was for towing duties only, and recently hardly gets used at all. It now has 198,000 miles and has some minor issues. It still runs, drives, and stops!! I just pulled a trailer across town with it the other day!
The 4.0l engine starts right up, runs strong, doesn't smoke or overheat, and has great oil pressure. Almost the entire exhaust is new. Just changed the oil. Gets about 16mpg in town and 21-23 on the road.
The trans works fine but you have to shift it manually. This is a common issue with this model trans caused by a pressure solenoid. I have the solenoid, pan gasket and filter, just haven't had time to install it. I've been driving it like this.
Transfer case is the "Selec-trac" model. It has 2wd*4wd part time*4wd full time* and 4 low. Works like a champ.
Suspension all good, steering good- not sloppy and loose. DOES need a front end alignment. Tires should be good til next winter probably. Has the "Up Country" suspension, sits maybe 2 inches taller than the standard suspension and came with a full size spare. Ujoints on rear driveshaft are almost new!
Just an old Jeep! Would be great for a kids first beater, or a hunting rig! $1850 obo. Cash only. As is. If it's still up then it's still for sale. No tire kickers. Email or text.
