Vehicle Description
2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport
4.0L auto 4WD
Pros:
Slip Yoke Eliminator
Upgraded double cardan joint rear driveshaft
4.5in lift
32” Cooper STT pro tires
Cold air intake
New alternator, starter, battery, fuel pump within last year.
Low mileage (110k) engine installed with all new gaskets, new water pump, radiator, timing chain, plugs, coil, etc.
Cons:
Rust forming in the passengers side rocker panel, it’s not real bad yet and could still be fixed. Still pretty clean overall.
Pretty sure it needs a head gasket, still runs and drives great. Doesn’t run hot or lose heat, it just turns coolant into chocolate milk after several thousand miles, I flushed the cooling system really good about 3 months ago and noticed it is milky again recently. I haven’t been driving it lately and will likely fix it in the spring if it doesn’t sell. I will be keeping it at that point.
Front speakers don’t work, I swapped them with known good speakers but they still didn’t turn on. This hasn’t bothered me so I never bothered looking into it beyond that.
The drivers side got keyed by a crazy b&@$ that used to live in my apartment building.
Front driveshaft needs to be replaced, it is unbalanced and causes a vibration, i simply removed it for the time being so it’s not annoying to drive.
Engine has piston slap on one of the cylinders, I have not narrowed it down to which cylinder, but it hasn’t gotten worse in the last 30k miles or so since I put the engine in. If I do the head gasket in the spring, it will likely get a new set of pistons and bearings. and again, no longer for sale.
Overall I love this Jeep. Its been incredibly reliable, goes through anything, excellent offroad. Still drives pretty good on the highway for being a 00’ Jeep with a 4.5in lift. It’s fun to drive, cleans up nice inside and out. If you are interested in checking it out, or have any questions, text me. Thanks for looking
