Vehicle Description
Selling our beloved 2004 Land Rover Discovery HSE - "Rosie" because we are nerdy new parents now. Loved by everyone who walks past her, Rosie has been our families car for trips to Maine, Catskills, Adirondacks and to far off lands like the Upper West Side. We hate to see her go and only wish we had a driveway with a house upstate attached to it to keep her. Alas, new "dad" wants something more responsible. So we are bidding Rosie goodbye while we search for something soul crushingly basic like an old Lexus or Jeep. Our loss, your gain?
Here is the nitty gritty on her:
Our daily driver!
165,000 well traveled miles
Leather interior
Lots of trunk space for a big silly dog
Holds our car seat and 2 smelly ten year olds just fine
New transmission (We loved her so much we upgraded last year)
New brakes
New pumps/plugs/lines
Extra character by way of two NYC cracked bumpers, a garbage truck scrape on left (and maybe right) back fenders, a spot of peeling paint, a horn that works but is missing a button, a driver window that rolls down but only when you sing to her or lock the doors, a small windshield crack, and a moonroof we kept meaning to get opened (there are 2 so we were really in no rush because we had the other one!). Service engine light is on because of the emissions which we have not opted to correct. In the words of our mechanic - you can fix it - but the ticket is cheaper. We've rolled the dice like the rebels we are and have never been ticketed.
Extra bonuses - Rosie is registered in Vermont as an out of state plate because she is so old. You can do this too and save a boatload of money on registration fees. No it is not illegal! Just a loophole. Insurance is about $85 a month.
If you are looking for a road warrior with lots of charisma and future left in her, a car that you don't need to be precious about in the mean streets of the city - than look no further. We will even throw in the tape deck converter and cigarette lighter phone charger.
She's sold as is and comes with a local and wonderful mechanic who we will pass on to you.
Serious inquiries only. Seriously.
