Vehicle Description
Selling with a heavy heart my Land Rover Series III 109. This vehicle was manufactured at Solihull in 1972, then shipped as a Complete Knock Down (CKD) in a crate to South Africa, where it was acquired by the South African Army. For 22 years, it remained in a crate in a South African Army warehouse. After the fall of apartheid, the South Army sold it and two others just like it to the second owner, who was an electrician. Years later, it was sold to the third owner, and he subsequently sold it to me. It was thoroughly restored in South Africa, and I brought it back to the US via Cape Town in 2017. It has a six cylinder petrol engine that runs beautifully and has just over 12,000 kilometers on it, after all this time. As you can see from the photos, it is in lovely shape inside and out, and I fitted it with a tan tarp with aluminum ribbing. It starts every time, and I am installing a new battery to ensure that it starts every time for you. I have a number of Land Rovers, and I want this one to go to a good home. I just do not have the time and the space to look after all of them.
