Vehicle Description
So, being a rotary, here is the good and the bad:
What you’re looking at is my 2004 Mazda RX-8, 6-speed.
6-spd man w/OD Transmission
18" silver aluminum Wheels
Front air conditioning, manual
AM/FM stereo, seek-scan Radio
Keyfob (front doors) Remote keyless entry
Leather seats
HID headlight
Sunroom
And everything else that came the 6 speed RX-8
The Good:
PowerTrix coilover suspension, 10k (f)/7k (r) spring rate on Swift Springs;
Stop Tech slotted rotors, front and rear;
Stop Tech Street Performance brake pads (front);
Hawk HPS Street brake pads (rear);
2-row aluminum Mishimoto radiator;
Turbo XS cat-back exhaust system;
Injen Short ram intake; show contact info &msclkid=e69492fce57e1f3d6ba4cfced7e02924 (Injen has since changed/ updated this particular intake system)
CorkSport 1.1 bar;
LED front running lights
LED tail lights
LED reverse lights (disconnected; see the bad)
Yellow fog light (Ebay)
The Bad:
Need both O2 sensors changed out, I bought them but didn’t feel like changing them out
Because of this, it currently won't smog
Registration has expired, willing to compensate price for $600 registration penalty
A common problem with RX8’s (sadly for unknown reasons), when placed into reverse, the car blows the reverse light fuse and stalls out. The fix, disconnect the wires that run under the car to the reverse lights: disconnected, reversing is now possible
Rotary engines need to be started at least every 4 days, it hasn't been started in 2 months so it needs to be deflood; it’ll crank, but needs to be deflooded
There are no rotary specialist in SD so most service has to be done in LA or the dealership in SD
