Vehicle Description
Very tidy - but not perfect! 1977 MG Midget 1500. PRICE REDUCED FROM $4500
PLEASE read entire post - especially regards contact details. Thank you.
I WILL NOT RESPOND TO ENQUIRIES THAT DO NOT INCLUDE A NAME AND PHONE NUMBER OR VALID EMAIL ADDRESS!
I will describe as best I can since I'd rather not sell it than waste your time and mine! If you know these vehicles that's great - if not, and you're interested at all - please bring someone that does. Ask any questions; I'll happily add specific photos on request (see above!).
The Bad:
- Next to no rust - BUT there are two areas on the lower rear panels that could be repaired - but are not structural.
- Will hop out of reverse gear at times - sometimes it's every time you select it; others it seems to work fine (does have spare transmission that may or may not work OK - best to think of it as rebuildable for a swap out).
- Parking brake is locked solid and does not work. (It seems to be the handle and/or the linkage to the rear wheels - does not prevent the car from driving and otherwise the brakes are just fine).
- Window winders are not reliable - BUT; there is a spare pair for fitting.
- Rear drivers side tire has a (very) slow leak.
- There are a few garage scars on the paintwork - nothing drastic.
- No door locking keys.
- Rear part of exhaust is home made (not by me).
- Some bumps and scrapes on the front suspension (BUT - there are replacement parts included).
- This is most definitely not a vehicle for the larger gentleman!
- Horn is not functional (New parts included).
- Heater blower is non operational.
- There is no windscreen washer reservoir or pump.
- I have no idea what the true mileage is.
- Tires have plenty tread left but I'd likely fit new.
The Good -
- next to no rust - no holes!
- Good panel fit
- Strong (for a 70's Brit) motor
- Clear FL title in my name.
- Hood is as good as new - clear 'glass' and no rips.
- New sway bar and mounts.
- New steering wheel (and original).
- Miata seats
- lots (and lots) of spares.
Spares:
- Engine (no overt damage but it's locked up and needs rebuild or use it as an anchor!)
- Gearbox - looks ok but no guarantees. :-)
- Doors
- suspension/brake parts
- Rear axle
- Front axles
- 4 x alloy wheels (Would need to be fitted with the spare front and rear axles - not a 5 minute job!)
- Original seats (poor condition but savable).
etc etc etc
Not interested in selling parts separately at this stage.
Thanks for looking!
Trade, MAYBE; I'm not swapping out one project for another but I will consider adding cash for something really interesting.
CJ, Willys, F150, F250, winch, 4x4, TR6, Ural, diesel, Deuce, Jeep
