Originally assembled in 1997, using a new 1974 VW Beetle chassis and dual port 1600cc engine, this vehicle incorporates the elegant design of the British classic without the maintenance and running problems which beset most English automobiles. A powerful, efficient and reliable German engine with Bosh electrical system starts easily and runs smoothly. With only 5,000 miles, this car has been barely broken in. Has fresh new brakes, tie rods, fuel, brake lines,battery, coil, tires and new intake manifold and rebuilt carburetor. The oil has been changed regularly at 1k miles intervals, and the original wiring kit was completely replaced two years ago with brand new wires, connectors, board and fuses.
This vehicle has not since had a blown fuse or electrical problem. Always garaged, this car has not never been in the rain.
The walnut dash panel and steering wheel, leather seats, pneumatic horn, and clean white convertible top highlight this striking example of carriage design. A vehicle cover and tunneau are included as are many spare parts, including a complete tune up set up with plugs and fuel filters. All gauges work.
