PLEASE READ ENTIRE AD!
I am selling my brand new build, 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS race car. This car is fully built to SCCA ITA rules. Brand new, current logbook with two race weekends. In fact, I was complimented a lot from the Tech Inspectors on the quality and cleanliness of the build. They took many pictures to show others how to properly build things (such as electrical kill switch wiring, et, etc) I personally got these cars certified in SCCA for competition, so as of right now, its the only one in the USA built for full competition use. I started the build with an immaculate non-sunroof, rust free car that was in beautiful condition to begin with. Its a 2.4 liter, 4 cylinder non turbo, front wheel drive race car per the SCCA ITA rules. This car has been a 3 year build.
It has a beautiful 6 point welded roll cage built by Chris Howard (very well known and experienced cage builder). There is a ton of room inside this car for taller drivers, and the distance from helmet to cage is huge (about 8 inches....you wont get that in a Miata!). There are also dual Nascar style intrusion bars in each door, and again, the distance to the cage is about 12 inches, so its very, very roomy and safe inside the car. Seriously, you will probably never see a fully caged race car that is so roomy and comfortable.
The Kirky full containment seat is beautiful, safe, and very comfortable. It has custom welded seat mounts that allow a custom fit for different height drivers. I have also fabricated a window net mount so that you can get into/out of the car VERY quickly. Simply hit the seat belt type button, and the entire hinged window net falls away in between the door and back of seat. Its also very fast/easy to get the window net clipped in. Simple, one handed operation that takes literally 2-3 seconds, and can be done by the driver. It also has a quick release steering wheel.
The drivetrain is fully built as well. I had R&L engines in Dover, NH build the 2.4 liter engine to the max allowable rules. I have over 10K in just the engine with receipts for all work done. It has forged pistons, extensive match porting, balancing, all stainless valves and custom Titanium springs and retainers, etc, etc. Also has a very nice adjustable fuel pressure regulator, stainless header/exhaust, urethane engine and transmission mounts, high volume fuel pump, master kill switch, and so much more.
Transmission is also freshly built with a Quaiffe LSD, centerforce clutch, lightweight axles, all brand new wheel bearings, 4 wheel disc brake conversion from an Eclipse GT, stainless brake lines, Hawk Blue race brake pads, DOT 5 fluid, etc. As it currently sits, it only needs race tires, and dyno time/ECU tune, as its still stock. The factory ECU on this car is fully and easily programmable, and only needs some tuning and dyno time. Once tuned, it should honestly be a class killer. I have the Tactrix ECU cable that will allow interface into the ECU for the tuner. Honestly, it will be a rocket, because in just some quick trips around my neighborhood, the car is fast as hell already.
Suspension is 36 way adjustable coilovers with custom camber plates. Has rear camber correction kit, adjustable toe arms and trailing arms, etc.
All of the hardware on this car is also brand new, high quality grade 8 or better nuts and bolts. I am OCD when it comes to hardware, so nearly everything I touched on the car is brand new, correct metric hardware. No crusty or worn out bolts anywhere on this car. This makes future service and repair so much cleaner and easier.
Parts are plentiful and very cost effective. There are so many cool parts available for this car should you choose to do something different with it.
This is an awesome SCCA ITA, or for some great track days, etc. I have so much more into this car than my asking price. Well worth it for a car that is safe, roomy, fast. Thanks for reading. Please call with any questions.
