Vehicle Description
Testing the waters on my 1991 Cefiro. Car was originally imported from Japan by Japanese Classics, LLC in Richmond, VA. This is a running, driving, and 100% federally and state legal RHD import.
This particular model is the Attesa touring, which features the turbocharged RB20 motor and famous AWD system that is also in the R32 GT-R and GTS-4.
That being said, this car was only offered in an automatic transmission. My original plans for the car were to convert it to 5 speed (using an R32 trans) but sadly, I moved into a new apartment and I cannot have more than one vehicle here.
Overview:
- ~ 185,xxx km on the clock (around 115-116k miles) the original RB20 had a knock, so a new motor was installed by Japan Parts Service. At the time of the swap, the speed sensor was damaged and the odometer stopped rolling. The car was never a daily by any means, so I’d estimate somewhere around 119k on the chassis as it sits. Replacement motor had similar mileage (around 90k mi) ((RB20DET))
- Attesa AWD
- Automatic transmission
- Exterior is in excellent shape for the age, paint shines nicely after a fresh wash
- Interior is mostly clean and it’s all there. A couple of air vents got melted by the hot sun near the driver’s side window. Dashboard was bored out for the gauge setup by previous owner. Seats are in excellent shape.
- Running, driving, inspected!
Mods:
- JTC Circuit Damper fully adjustable coilovers
- RAYS Vesta Sebring wheels wrapped in Yokohama tires with plenty of tread left
- Sheepdog Racing 3” downpipe
- Sheepdog Racing 3” catback
- HKS AFR
- HKS turbo timer
- HKS honeycomb intake
- Momo F1 race wheel
- Tein gas hood shocks
- Aftermarket head unit with bluetooth/USB/aux
- Speakers are pretty much shot, but will be including a new set with the sale, car is already wired for subwoofers
- HKS, GlowShift, and Lamco triple gauge setup (need to figure out wiring for these)
Overall, this is a decent base for a cool build or even just a fun cruiser as is. The only stock parts I have for the car are the stock suspension and the OEM wheels (still have a ton of life left on the tires) I will include these items for the buyer. The car runs, drives, and stops fine. It is by no means perfect, however, the price reflects that. Keep in mind that this is an old Japanese turbo car and they can have their quirks. I’d love for it to go to someone who will enjoy it and enjoy working on it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. The best way to contact me is by text or e-mail. Thanks for looking!
