Vehicle Description
Please no solicitors, i do not need help selling the car. Please only contact me if you are a serious buyer.
Up for sale is my very unique and very rare 1982 Ford Mustang GLX convertible. From 1974 through 1982 there were no convertible Mustangs, save for the 200 or fewer factory certified conversions done by BIVOUAC Inc. for the 1982 model year. This car is one of the few chosen ones.
This Mustang was originally displayed inside a mall in Pennsylvania. The original owner then brought it down to Florida immediately where the car has spent nearly its entire life. It has never seen snow or salt and is rust-free. It was used until the mid 90's, then put into storage by the original owner for a decade or so. The car was then brought out of storage and brought back up to being roadworthy.
The original owner performed the following once the car was out of storage about 10 years ago:
-a fresh respray of the original polar white paint on a laser-straight, rust-free body with no filler
-a new top with receipt of $1228
-installation of a fresh, non-numbers matching 302 (car originally came with the anemic and short-lived 4.2-liter 255 V8) with new flat top pistons, Edelbrock performer cam and intake, and fresh 351 Windsor heads with stainless steel valves
-a new steering rack
-all new AC components and a professional 134a refrigerant conversion
-a new 3-row aluminum radiator
-true dual exhaust with h-pipe and turbo mufflers
-new power window motors
I purchased the car in 2018 and I am the second owner. As of this writing, it has just over 43,000 original miles, the odometer has not rolled over. Since I've owned the car I've done numerous updates to it so it's as reliable as can be:
-new mechanical fuel pump
-new Holley 600 electric choke carburetor
-complete new ignition system including: distributor, cap and rotor, ignition module, ignition coil, plugs and wires
-new rear axles, auburn gear limited slip differential and 3.08 ring and pinion, professionally installed with receipt of $1050
-all new front and rear brakes, including shoes, pads, drums, rotors, calipers, wheel cylinders, and all hardware
-fresh fluids
-new fuel tank and fuel sending unit professionally installed in May 2019
The remaining issues with the car:
-the top doesn't seal well so water gets in if it rains. The top is in great shape but the weatherstripping could use replacement and the mechanism itself could use some adjustment
-the cruise control is not hooked up (but comes with the car)
-the original red leather seats do have some fading from the sun as seen in the pictures, and a small tear in the driver seat bottom. I have nice seat covers on them now
-no floor carpeting, since it had gotten wet and will need to be replaced
It comes with a clean and clear Florida title in my name and full documentation including original window sticker and bill of sale, BIVOUAC Conversion information and certification, owner's manual, loads of receipts, and so much more. Please feel very free to email or call with any questions at all. I have no problem shipping the vehicle once full payment has been received. My name is Brad. Thank you.
