Vehicle Description
One of a kind, get in and go, no maintenance or tinkering. Excellent condition 1988 Mercedes 560 SL for sale! Very to rare to have rear jump seats. Recently had a new radiator, new battery and a fresh engine tuneup. The 5.60 V8 car is very fun and fast. Mechanically the car is in great shape. The paint is excellent and with no rust. There is a rub on the drivers seat from getting in and out, a small tear inside the passenger door and a small tear on the cover of the soft top. The rims have a little flaking of the finish. The soft top has a crack in the clear plastic window part and could be replaced (new on Amazon $349-$439). Comes with the rolling stand for the hardtop. There is a occasional sound in the front wheels, when turning it to tight parking spaces. I had that looked at and was told it is fine and that nothing has to be done, never happens driving, only turning into tight parking spaces.
CARFAX shows no accidents or damage. Reports show it was a California car from most of its life. I bought it from a person that had bought it from Portland, OR. The hood and hardtop were repainted at some point. Not sure the reason, unless hail or something fell on the top. No sign of that on the CARFAX report.
Truly a sports car with a big and fast engine. This was one of the last years (and best years) of the R107 Models which were made from 1971 to 1989. These years are more desirable because they kept improving and had all the bugs worked out.
