Hello Craigslist,
I'm reluctantly selling my favorite bus. I present to you this very rare VW Bus Camper in museum-like condition. Low miles, original interior, a tons of factory options, and has been meticulously preserved to its current time capsule shape. It starts, runs, stops and drives better than new, due to its upgraded larger engine. The following qualities make this bus very rare and special:
- It's a high top model, meaning if you're over 6 feet tall, you can still stand in it without your head touching the ceiling. It is a SAFARE' model, produced for a short period of time in the 70's by a company called Spirit Campers. Those campers are pretty much extinct at this point. The high top models are considered the Rolls Royce of bay window busses, and this might be one of the cleanest example in existence.
- It has 48,000 original miles.
- The interior is 100% original. The stove looks like it was just made. The upholstery and cabinetry are well preserved.
- A new larger displacement engine has been swapped by the dealership a few thousand miles ago. If you ask other camper owners, the biggest complaint about these busses is the lack of power the original engines had moving such a heavy vehicle. This bus does not have this problem and does highway speeds all day long.
Its an absolutely gorgeous bus and you must see it in person to appreciate it. Has been repainted once in the past, up to date on maintenance, you cannot help but smile from ear to ear driving it, while getting a plethora of thumbs ups and endless questions anywhere you stop. It will cozily sleep 4 people (2 people up and 2 people down), so grab your favorite 3 people and hit the road. I kid you not, this bus has more windows and cabinets than my luxury San Diego apartment.
Here are some of the other factory options:
⁍ 2-burner stove with 3.2 gal. butane tank
⁍ 110 volt AC power outlets
⁍ Stainless steel sink with 2-way faucet
⁍ Flame proof privacy curtains
⁍ Linoleum flooring
⁍ Refrigerator with 2.5 cubic ft. of space
⁍ Fire extinguisher holder
⁍ Louvered windows with removable screens
⁍ Hide-away step
⁍ 11-gallon grey water tank
⁍ 2 Wardrobe closets
⁍ Large storage areas and utensil drawer
⁍ Dinette set (seats 4 while dining) which doubles as day bed or front facing bench seat
⁍ Bolster cushions (used with front-facing bench seat.

Please don't forget to take a vitual video tour of the bus!:
First person with $35k takes it home. Priced fairly which accounts the rarity, cleanliness and condition into considerations. Please have funds ready prior to test drives. Clean title and smog exempt due to the year. Will consider some trade offers, specifically looking for a clean split window bus, porsche 356 speedster, FJ40, Lincoln continental, or other classics.
Located in San Diego, but open to shipping it anywhere
Cheers!
