Vehicle Description
1990 Rolls Royce Corniche III Drop Head Coupe with 37,xxx actual miles. St. James Red with cream leather interior and beige Everflex top; driven weekly, so the mileage will go up accordingly. In 1990, 451 examples of the Corniche III were made, making this car a rare model; 1990 was also the best model year for the Corniche line. Mechanically excellent except for the following noted issues: the AC needs to be addressed as it is not working correctly, the rear pinion seal needs to be replaced as it is seeping ( I have the replacement part), and the front brake accumulator spheres should be replaced (Part CD6000GMFP from Flying Spares is $75 each and the car requires 2). The brakes work fine, but the car does seep a small amount of fluid and there is a bit of squealing from the brakes on occasion. The right rear passenger window will go down, but has trouble going back up; the other windows operate as they should. The convertible top operates as it should.
Recent service includes a new power steering rack, transmission service, tune up that includes oil change, new oil pressure sensor and sensor switch, spark plugs, distributors, rotor caps and distributor belt, new rubber valve cover gaskets with updated spacers and isolators, new radiator, AC compressor, AC low pressure switch, AC high pressure line, rear suspension accumulator spheres, and an alignment. I will also include with the car, the following parts: a new aluminum power steering fluid reservoir and the hoses that go to the pump and rack ( the current plastic reservoir is not damaged, but it is 32 years old and having the aluminum reservoir is a good idea), a new power steering high pressure line from the pump to the rack, the chrome wheel trim rings (chrome plate plastic rings are currently fitted) and the previously mentioned rear pinion seal.
Cosmetically, car is 3+ on Haggarty scale, meaning it shows well as a daily driver. Original paint with very minor flaws, but nothing that detracts from the beauty of the car. A good detail would bring back total luster of the car, but there is no peeling of clear coat. Leather is supple as I treat it with Leatherique; has the usual creases from being sat in, no tears anywhere. No major cracks in the wood, but some chips here and there, at some point, one might consider getting the wood reconditioned; it still presents very well for a 32 year old car. Convertible top is the original top and the everflex exterior is in excellent condition with no rips, holes, or leaks. The wool interior headliner is in good condition and has some very minor stains in the rear with some deterioration on the sides near the back of the car; it still functions normally.
Car drives straight and true and the steering wheel is perfectly indexed. She rides on Vitour Galaxy 235/70R/15 tires from 2018; the Vitour Galaxy thin white wall tire is the original tire to the Corniche III. No warning lights or check engine light illuminated and the car is a definite conversation starter when I drive her. Bear in mind, this is a 32 year old Rolls Royce that will have quirks and issues just like any other 32 year old car. I have addressed things as they have presented themselves and I have conducted proper maintenance on the car while she has been in my care, but she is 32 years old. She will be due for the next oil service at 41,500 miles. I take her to British Automotive Repair in Scottsdale for her service. Since I have had the car, I installed an updated Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 radio, purchased fitted lambswool rugs, and installed updated Bosch relays. The car also has the original convertible top boot, which is in excellent condition. One final thing to note is that the analog odometer below the speedometer reads different from the digital odometer, but the digital odometer reflects the true and correct mileage of the car.
I am asking $68,000 or best realistic offer for the car. I will not entertain any offers from buyers who do not physically come to me to see the car. I know Rolls Royce motor cars, and I know the value of this car, even with the issues I disclosed, so I will not even consider low ball offers or your supposed expertise on Rolls Royce. If you think you can find a better deal elsewhere, please do so and do not waste your time or mine. The car is located in Prescott, AZ, about an hour and ten minutes north of Phoenix. For serious buyers in the Phoenix area, arrangements can be made to meet in Black Canyon City at Rock Springs Café to view the car upon verification of funds.
I have in hand, a clean, unencumbered AZ title in my name, one key with fob, and two spare keys. Upon purchase, the transaction will be done via wire transfer from your bank with both of us present to verify funds and the transfer. Once I receive cleared funds, I will turn the car and the title over to the new owner free and clear. The car will be sold AS IS, WHERE IS With no Warrantees Expressed or Implied.
