Vehicle Description
For sale is a 1999 Saab 9-5.
This is the first generation and the last classic Saab sedan designed and built in Sweden, before GM’s ownership.
It’s the top line SE trim, with the 3.0t V6. This motor was sourced from GM and shared parts with the Cadillac Catera. But Saab added an asymmetric turbocharger and tuned it. Compared to the 4 cylinder 2.3t motor, it’s much smoother and develops effortless power. Getting harder and harder to find 9-5s in this condition, especially with the V6.
The car is in good shape. The paint still shines, all the glass is good, and there are no major dents in the body. The rear bumper cover could use a respray. The interior is very clean. Car has had a full detail in and out (clay bar, machine wax, leather conditioner etc). Tires have lots of even tread. Side airbags and known as a very safe car.
A lot of maintenance/repairs have been done, with several big ticket, common items taken care of in the last couple years: timing belt and tensioners and water pump (2021), brakes (2019), valve cover gaskets, ignition cassettes, exhaust, cat, oxygen sensors, engine mounts, spark plugs (all 2020), alternator (2019), and battery (2022). I just had the heater core replaced, repaired a CV boot, replaced the cabin filter, and did a fresh oil change. It only drips a small amount of oil, does not seem to be consuming oil, and should be good to go for a long time. These motors are known to go over 300,000 miles with routine timing belt changes and little headaches. This one runs strong, and the car drives well, especially at speed on the highway. Transmission shifts smoothly and fluid looked good. Just passed emissions. New custom fit floor mats.
Original owner's manual included, and two keys (one is the newer version with the remote integrated into the key).
I am a collector and bought to keep, but right after I took delivery, I got a lead on another 9-5 that only has 50k miles and couldn’t pass it up! Can't keep them both, as I already have another 9-5 with a manual transmission that's a keeper.
Clear Colorado title in hand.
