1985 Corvette - VH1 Peter Max "Lost Corvettes" Collection
This is a true “one of one” it is the 1985 Corvette from the PETER MAX “Lost Corvettes” collection. It is a VIN MATCHING car with all documentation and vetting having been done. The Peter Max title is included.
The “collection” was compiled around 1990 of 36 Corvettes…one of each year, 1953 through 1989. “RARE” does not describe this car, it is a true collector car that, while owned by Peter Max, was in storage in NY for 25 years!
It is in Very Good condition w/only 62k miles. It is a coupe w/removable top.
Post storage, a minor restoration of this car was overseen CHRIS MAZZILLI, an NCRS (National corvette concours judge and awarded collector), when under the ownership of the Heller and Spindler families.
Fresh motor….rebuilt by the top end specialist that did the entire Peter Max collection of 36 Corvettes.
Current owner says that “aside from provenance, it is the cleanest 1985 I have personally ever seen”.
I have included a few photos of the car while in 25 years of storage and current very good condition. The complete “Lost Corvettes story” and photos are available online (you tube).
It is one of just a few of the 36 Corvettes uncovered so far. This car, along with the others, became nationally famous having been “lost” in storage for 25 years while owned by Peter Max, a world renown, new-age artist (photos).
The current owner will entertain offers above $25,000 on this ultra-rare, one of one, Corvette. The car is in storage in southern, Maine and may been seen by appointment.
