Vehicle Description
WINTER DISCOUNT - Dropped to $7500...I need to get my Firehawk back in the garage.
1997 Chevrolet Camaro SLP SS Convertible - 1 of 28
350hp LT1 – 6 speed manual – 3.42 positraction
476 SLP SS Convertibles were built in 1997
Only 28 were painted in Bright Red (81U)
Even less of them were 6 speed manuals (1 of 10?)
(73% of all 1997 Camaro’s were automatics…)
Graphite Leather, Air Conditioning, Alarm & Keyless Entry, Tint, Power Windows, Locks & Convertible Top
Pioneer Bluetooth CD player, Pioneer 3-way 6.5” door and rear speakers
Has the SLP options, Magnaflow dual 3” exhaust, Hypertech pretuned ECU chip and low temp thermostat
(180 degree) and a Granatelli mass air flow sensor (350hp). I have the factory mass air flow sensor in the box.
Previous owner had done an optispark, water pump, timing cover seals,
new radiator, spark plugs and ignition wires – all done around 140k miles
I just did a brand new K&N air filter, K&N fuel filter, Mobil1 oil change, and rear differential service.
During the diff service I added a chromed rear differential cover and used the OEM AC Delco limited slip additives.
Previous owner also lowered the car 1” on Vogtland springs and Bilstein struts. I have the stock springs.
I recently upgraded to 17” chrome SS/ZR1 Wheels and added Corvette C4 center caps (cross flags).
Tires are brand new BFGoodrich G-Force Comp 2 All Season’s in size P275/40ZR17
and have a 45k mile warranty (and paperwork) through Discount Tire Company.
I’ve also recently added a Hurst 8-ball and Hawks short throw shifter. I still have the original shifter/knob.
There are lots of small add-ons; new wiper blades, low profile antenna, custom dash pad, chrome “LT1”
license plate surround, chrome rear “CAMARO” letter inserts, “SS” convertible switch plaque, and more…
Runs, Drives, Shifts, and Sounds Great. 162k Miles of Careful Ownership.
It’s 22 years old and has been driven so it’s not perfect but it’s damn nice.
I am in contact with the previous owner and have a clean Carfax report.
Own a piece of history. Nice 6 speed 4th Gen’s are getting hard to come by.
REASON FOR SELLING: I have 3. I'm selling this one and my 1993 Firebird Formula
(also a 6 speed) so I can focus on my SLP Firehawk (green car in the pics...NOT for sale)
Hagerty shows this valued at $9,200-12,300 (see 2nd to last pic) and increasing...
