Vehicle Description
It's time for me to part with my beloved Suburban. It's a true survivor. This is a 1991 GMC Suburban HD2500 2WD with a 454 big block. The truck is in really good condition for its age but it's time for some items to be addressed. First and foremost is the paint. It has started to fade and in some areas the clear coat has started to peel. The good news is that this truck is COMPLETELY rust free! There is zero rust on any of the body panels, around the windows or wheel wells or anywhere under the truck. The chrome is still like new. The inside is in great condition. No rips or holes (minor stains on the carpet here and there) Headliner is like new replaced a few years ago. Second is that the rubber gaskets around the doors and windows need to be replaced. They don't leak but have started to crack. Third - Recently I went on a long trip towing my camper which is what the truck was primarily used for. During the trip the check engine light came on after a couple hours of towing. I stopped at an Advance to have the code read but the equipment wouldn't read anything older than 1996 so I don't know what that issue was. All of the gauges and lights work and read normal during towing and normal operation. I put heavy duty racing wires on it a few years back but its probably time for new plugs. I have camped in the truck several times and with the third row seating removed and the back seats folded down the back of it is bigger than most pickup trucks. The truck is old and is in great shape, but can be brought back with some time and money. It's an awesome truck that you don't see often and attracts attention and conversation wherever I go with it. My original intentions were to restore this truck to like new condition and keep it for towing my camper, but my life changes dictate otherwise. I hate to sell it because it's been a part of a family for many years, however my situation has changed and I'm selling both of my older trucks to get one newer all purpose vehicle that will fill all of my travel and towing needs. I have the original manual and window sticker from when the truck was brand new showing all of the equipment and specs for anyone interested in a complete restoration. I'm available most days or evenings for someone to look at it. It would make some high schooler the envy of the school with little to no work or a serious restoration person the most solid truck to begin with for this price in the US.
