Hi Folks, Offered for sale is this truly exceptional 2001 Chevy Astro van! This quality-built USA van was sold new in Georgetown TX in spring of 2001 and remained with the original owner in Texas until the fall of 2017. Having enjoyed 2 previous Astro/Safari vans, we were thrilled to come across this rust-free survivor with an excellent CarFax report and jumped at the chance to bring it home in early 2018. Instead of placing it immediately into service, we set aside its first few months in Indiana to not only spare it from driving in snow, but given its age, to gradually work through a list of maintenance updates. I'm a little embarrassed at how much extra work was put into making this van as close to mechanically perfect as practical. Simply put, the extent of repair work invested in this van easily exceeds even the most optimistic resale value. Why would we do this, you might ask. well until recently, we honestly thought we were going to keep it for the next 10 years! Our original 1993 Safari was still going strong at 278K. our second faithful Astro was passed along at 196K. we raised our kids in these vans and made many happy road trip memories along the way. Our plans were towards keeping this survivor on the road for the foreseeable future, but you know the saying about 'the best-laid plans'. And then, a couple of empty-nesters went camper shopping. and our tow vehicle needs changed significantly.
