Vehicle Description
2013 Ford Cmax Energi Hybrid SEL
White Exterior, Beige Leatherette interior.
Top of the Line "Energi" edition, all options, can go 20 miles pure electricity without using any gas. The battery on the "ENERGI" edition is more then 5x bigger the non-"energi" edition.
Hybrids are getting more expensive by the day, not just due to Covid but also due to the emergence of electric vehicles. This has both, you'll never be stuck because you ran out of electricity, or be stuck drinking a cup of coffee cuz you are waiting for it to charge. This is the ultimate first car / college car / Uber / Lyft Vehicle as it gets amazing gas mileage in both the city and highway. 44 Mpg City / 41 Mpg Highway. Setting the cruise control driving from SF to LA I got 48Mpg.
155K Miles
Clean Title (make sure the title is clear, you'd never want to buy a salvaged title hybrid car)
Passed Smog
You are buying the car from a car enthusiast, not just some person that gets the oil changed and fills it with gas. I have full knowledge of the vehicle in and out.
I got scammed as a kid buying my first car and I would never let that happen to anyone else. All cars I have ever owned and sold leave my hands in better condition then when I purchased it.
FULLY inspected and made necessary adjustments.
- Hybrid system and charging system inspected by Ford and everything works 100%. (Please DO NOT buy any hybrid with any hybrid system problems)
- Front Suspension entirely Redone, new control arms, bushings, tie rod ends, sway bar links, and Ball Joints (this is a usually a 2K job)
- 4 New all season Tires all around with alignment ($700) - Wheels were balanced and verified to be perfectly round.
- New double sized starter Battery upgrade ( this battery is twice as big as the normal starter battery, has 30 % more starting power, 50% more reserve power, and last twice as long as the regular starter battery $200)
- Brake rotors at 85%, Brake pads just changed not because they were worn out, I just figured I want the next owner to not have to fix/change anything for a while. I know this car will probably be driven a lot so I changed the brake pads to Raybestos EHT pads, they are a hybrid ceramic and semi-metallic pad. You get all the stopping power of semi-metallic pad without the noise and don't have to wait for them to warm up like a ceramic, These brake pads are so good that yes, I have the same formula pads on my Ferrari. ($200)
- No leaks, when I got it inspected it looked like there was a leak but it was just dirty from previous sloppy oil changes at quicklube oil change facilities, (Yes its sad no one takes pride in their work at those places but I understand that the money is in working as fast as possible turning over cars, so there is possible minor seepage, so a seal rejuvenator was put in just in case, but I haven't had any oil issues ever with the car. I changed the oil every 5K miles with full synthetic high mileage 5W-20 Oil)
-The fuel system has been cleaned in its entirety with a 3M Pro system kit ($125)
When selling a car I like to imagine if I'm the buyer and what would I look out for. I usually look out for weak points or what needs to be done and I also ask if anything is wrong with the car.
Weak Points -
The Toyota Prius has a higher than usual failure rate for the head gasket.
The Honda Civic Hybrid is prone to finicky transmission problems.
The Ford Cmax Energi hybrid does not have any of those problems, the transmission is so strong that they don't recommend a transmission fluid change till 240K miles, most other manufacturers say their transmission fluid is "lifetime" fill which in technical automotive talk means change at 100K. 240k vs 100k?!?! That just shows how durable the transmission is on the Ford C-Max. Its up to you if you want the transmission fluid changed, I would change it at 180K.
Car was detailed about 6 months ago, I don't usually take cosmetics too seriously as its a city car, I don't want a shiny car attracting attention and getting broken into.
Again I'm a car enthusiast, when it comes to cars I'm more about the love of the cars rather than the $$$. I'd love to see this car hit 500K miles, anyway I can help after the sale I would. I'm not some car dealership that just patches things up to make a quick buck then make you feel reassured by selling you a $4000 warranty.

Please call and Text if serious. Most of my cars when I put them up on sale sell during the first week as they know EXACTLY what they are getting before they come to see it. What other car on here has been fully inspected and 3K of work put into it?
