Vehicle Description
1965 Mustang For Sale
Great daily driver, super reliable, needs nothing. I've been driving it to work every day; I put over 350mi/week commuting. Car is in covered parking at work, and lives in our garage at home. I don't think it was ever stored outside for any length of time due to the lack of rust in the cowl, floorboards, trunk etc.
We've had this car for over a decade, put a lot of time and $ into it, but it's time to let it go. Looking to get $15,000 but reasonable offers may be considered. I'm sure I missed some things in this ad, but I think I've got most of the work we've put into the car covered below.
Engine:
351w Roller Cam
Comp Cams Extreme Energy 270 (X270HR)
GT40 Heads
Long Tube Headers
Dual 2.25" Exhaust, exits in GT trumpets
Edelbrock Intake
Edelbrock 600cfm electric choke carburetor
Electric in-tank fuel pump
Electronic distributor conversion (Ford OEM parts)
Cobra air cleaner
Finned Aluminum valve covers
Aluminum Northern (US made) radiator with 16" electric fan
130A alternator
Drivetrain:
T-5 Manual Transmission, roller bearing pedal conversion
Aluminum Driveshaft
Ford 8.8 rear with 3.55 gears, traction lock and disc brakes
Front Disc brakes
Hydroboost Unit
Late Model 16" Mustang rims with knock-off style center caps and Goodyear tires
Power rack and pinion steering conversion
SPC Adjustable Caster Rods
Adjustable Lower control arms
Lakewood traction bars
Body:
When we bought it 10 years ago, the main reason I brought this particular car home was because it was SO clean as far as rust was concerned. It still has the factory 'red oxide' paint on the bottom of the whole car, no rust holes, no repairs, etc. I think there was only one true hole that needed to be fixed in the rear quarter panel, and it had steel metal welded in before finishing. There were various dents and dings which were repaired (of course) and then painted by myself (amateur) so it's probably not show worthy, but good enough for a daily driver in my opinion. That was first paint job the car got after it's factory paint.
Frame mounted receiver hitch custom built and mounted. Used mainly for mounting my bike rack, but I did tow occasionally. Car is wired with 'flat four' trailer light plug. It also gives you some 'rear-end' gas tank safety too as the factory bumpers don't do much for you in an accident.
Interior:
Pony style seat covers with new seat foam
New carpet
Shaved Dash (no dash pad)
New Heater plenum, core and defroster tubes
6-gauge instrument panel
MP3-style stereo input, turns on with normal 'on' dial on the radio, which runs a front amp for the four speakers, and then a second amp on trunk mounted sub woofers.
