History of the 1980 Clenet Series II:
In 1975, Alain Clenet, along with many fellow auto enthusiasts investors, fulfilled a dream of building a top-end, limited-production neo-classic through the establishment of Clenet Coachworks Inc.! Based in Santa Barbara, California, Clenet Coachworks, Inc. was quickly recognized for using only the best craftsmen available, as well as, for upholding high build standards. With a 1930's design inspiration, along with both all modern drive trains and suspension systems, these splendid and unique vehicles were largely sold to the wealthy and elite. At a cost of over $100,000 in the late 1970's, they typically found homes with Hollywood fame that included Aaron Spelling, Sylvester Stallone, Wayne Newton, and Farrah Fawcett! This eye-catching model was even featured aside the wealthiest on an episode of Dallas, as well as, the soap opera Dynasty! The luxurious Series II was introduced in 1979 with placards created for the cars prepared and numbered through 250 units slated for production. Although, true production ended at 187 vehicles produced through 1980 making them extremely rare to find today!
