Vehicle Description
1981 Volkswagen Rabbit pickup truck diesel
$2800 OBO
This classic little truck feels like a go cart with it's low profile body. It's so much fun to drive. And at 40-50 miles per gallon it feels even better zipping down for a brew at the pub.
For the last 6 years it's been my town car. Perfect for coastal drives. It's a perfect truck for dogs, camping out in the bed and running errands.
This buggy is mechanically sound and runs, however, I do keep it in the "tow home" zone, aka I wouldn't drive it to the city or to Redding. I keep it within Shelter Cove to Crescent City to Willow Creek zone. I've never had to tow it but I do have to tinker on it a few times a year, it's 40 years old.
I just replaced the fuel pump, fuel injectors and both fuel filters and cleaned up the whole fuel system.
The CV joints, alternator, and breaks were done a year ago. Replaced the starer two years ago.
All regular maintenance was done regularly.
It does have rust. That is the one thing. It needs body work. I've always wanted to get the bodywork done.
Also the fuel gauge and the odometer have stopped working . The odometer went down two years ago at 274,000, miles. Besides that, everything else is in running order.
Honestly this truck is perfect as an economical around town rig. I love it and I wouldn't be selling it except I just had a baby and I can't fit three of us in it.
Text me if you have any questions. Call me if you're serious.
