Vehicle Description
For sale is this sweet 1982 RX-7. It’s powered by a 13B 6 port rotary with a mild street-port and Weber 48 IDA carburetor, that makes 190HP. The engine was built with S5 rotors, housings, irons, and e-shaft. The rotors have been machined to accept 3mm CERAMIC apex seals. The interior is completely gutted, including the doors and the bumpers, so the car weighs 1850lbs. The exterior is in good cosmetic shape and the car tracks straight going down the road.
The car is equipped with the following:
·13B, 6 port rotary with a mild street-port and Weber 48 IDA carburetor that makes 190HP to the wheels (with more potential)
·’99 Miata transmission with 5th removed for auto-cross
·Mazda RX-7 GSL LSD with 4.44 gears
·Mazda RX-7 GSL disk brakes in the rear with Hawk HP+ pads up front
·Standard “IT” suspension, Tokico shocks the front with camber plates, Koni struts in the rear with a 3-link setup
·A welded-in 1.5x0.095 roll bar that could be extended to be SCCA legal
·16 gal ATL fuel cell & Carter fuel pump
·2 good aluminum race seats with harnesses
·Excellent condition Lexan windshield & rear hatch
·Hoosier Slicks on Diamond Racing wheels
The previous owner ran a Rotary shop for over 20 years and built this car to road race and auto-cross. This car was built to be a top competitor in its class and it has a winning history as a road race car. The RX-7 (and this car in particular) is a great platform to build off of and bring up to current safety standards. It starts every time without issue, is light and nimble with a near 50/50 balance front to rear, and there is so much useful information online about these cars in general and how to set them up for different types of racing. If you’re looking for a running and driving winter project to prep for race season then this is the car for YOU!
$6,500. Bill of sale only, no title.
