1990 Vanagon Syncro Turbo Diesel Camper.
Located in Bend, OR.
This van started life as a panel van in europe. It's gone through extensive upgrades since then to be an incredible adventure rig. It was imported to the US from France in 2020 and comes with a full Oregon title/registration.
Camper/interior:
The van has a reimo center pop top installed in europe. This keeps the low profile tin-top look and a low center of gravity to make this an awesome off-roader. Raises easily in seconds for full standing height in the van's kitchen/living area. The interior was completely gutted with new sound deadening and moisture resistant mineral wool insulation installed throughout the entire cabin in 2021. it has custom floor to ceiling wall panels and door cards for the panel van, cedar ceiling and window trims, new Pergo floor, and a customized westfalia interior. Dimming Led lights installed in the ceiling and over the kitchen, USB/12V outlets in the rear. Westfalia propane stove and sink/water tank with upgraded hi-flow faucet and all new water lines (2021). I have pictures of the complete build out if interested. Includes a 50AH sealed deep cycle battery with a DC-DC charger and MPPT solar controller (no panels currently installed, but all you need are the panels).
Engine/Mechanical:
Stock 1.6 turbo Diesel motor (JX) was just rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago with machined crankshaft, new undersized bearings, pistons, rings, head gasket, water pump, oil pump, timing belt, tensioner, turbo, clutch, all gaskets and seals, and a new aftermarket oil pressure gauge and sender. All set for many happy miles of driving. Gets ~24 MPG and cruises easily at 65-70mph.
All new shift linkage bushings and wear parts. Shifts and drives smoothly.
4 speed manual transmission + granny gear.
Center decoupler (part time 4 wheel drive/center locker), front and rear lockers all work well.
New rear spring leveling spacers.
Exterior:
Paint is 7/10 some faded and touched up places, but overall in good condition. Exterior is 8/10: some dents/bumps bruises, but nothing alarming. All plastic pieces are in good shape. Upgraded truck mirrors.
European spec square headlights are much better than the DOT spec lights found on
US vans.
Rear spare tire swing out. Tow hitch.
Currently sitting on 15" steel rims with A/T Tires with matching spare. I have a set of new white 16" steel rims with brand new General Grabber ATX's that I can install with a full price offer.
