Vehicle Description
This 1990 VW Vanagon GL is perfect for weekend camping trips, fitting up to 7 passengers. The engine is water-cooled and runs well (occasionally takes a couple tries to start) and is paired with an automatic transmission and is rear wheel drive.
The rear bench-seat folds flat, turning the entire back into a large comfortable bed, easily sleeping 2. The other two seats in the back are removable, allowing for a ton of extra room if needed. New Pioneer radio installed, works great for playing music over Bluetooth or plugged in via USB or with an Aux cable. New speakers also installed in the front, as well as a slim subwoofer hidden under the passenger seat for better sound quality.
Odometer shows 116,142 miles, but it's been broken for a few years, I only put a couple thousand miles on it per year at most. This is my 2nd vehicle (not my daily driver), only using it once a month or so. The speedometer also does not currently work, this is a common part that fails on Vanagons. Replacement speedometers can easily be found at GoWesty
This would be the perfect van to convert into a camper. I was originally planning on doing just that, but life got in the way and I wasn't able to devote enough time to convert it. I had removed the headliner (it had been in not great shape) with the intention of replacing it, but hadn't yet. The side panels in the back have been removed and I have brand new ABS replacement panels (gray color) from GoWesty ready to be installed, included for free with the van.
Please reach out with any questions via email or text.
