The sport little coupe could have sold on its performance, handling, and practicality alone, but the styling of the car truly set it apart from the competition. With a nearly uninterrupted glass canopy roof and the first butterfly doors every put on a road going production vehicle, the Toyota Sera looks like something out of a science fiction comic. In fact, the unique butterfly door design was so striking and memorable that Gordon Murray, designer of the iconic Mclaren F1, cited the Sera as his inspiration for the F1's door configuration.
