Vehicle Description
“Very Clean Ford Mustang LX Summer Special "feature" car. It is rare to find mustangs from this area that weren't molested and beat. There were only 2193 produced, of which only 287 were sent to the DSO where this was ordered, and there's not many left. This will be a collector in the future, and the prices are starting to increase. This is not a car that was stored for 27 years, it was owned and driven by adults. What does this car need? A new home for starters, other than that, it needs nothing. It's not perfect, it does have some nicks, and small scratches, slight wear on the seats, one rim is a little scuffed but it is almost all original. The previous owner had the radiator replaced (I have the original) and the exhaust pipe failed right at the muffler so I had a local shop install an OEM replacement flowmaster Stainless cat-back exhaust. It doesn't leak anything, and everything works as it should. It comes with a cover. Very fun car drive, and it gets lots of attention.”
I've owned this classic for four years and I'm the third owner. I bought this car because it was the car I loved when I graduated high school. I have driven it less than 2000 miles mostly to car shows and to get annual inspection stickers. It's always kept under a cover in a climate controlled garage (including the previous owner in NJ). I'm only selling because I'm restoring a 1968 Chevy C10 and could use the extra garage space this winter. I do not need to sell this, but after seeing several others in the $18K-24K I figured I'd give someone the opportunity to own one with a little more miles for much less.
This classic 1992 Mustang Limited Edition 'Summer Special' convertible rolled off the assembly line over 27-years ago. Ford produced only 2,193 of these Code 1FACP44E roadsters in 1992. The sticker price was $850.00 more than a standard LX and they are rare today. This Mustang 'Summer Special' is all-original except for an aluminum radiator and flowmaster cat-back exhaust. On the outside, the factory Vibrant Red paint is in good/very good condition. The 'Summer Special' option included a rear deck lid spoiler and color-keyed moldings/mirrors/window trim. A power-operated white vinyl top with black Lori-cloth headliner is in very good condition. To accent the 'Summer Special' model, Superior Wheel in Kansas City created white alloys by applying baked-on opal pearlescent paint over silver. The interior is upholstered in original white leather. Other features include: power steering, power brakes (10-3/4'' disc/ 9'' drum), A/C, power tinted windows, tilt wheel, power seats/locks, factory gauge package and premium AM/FM/cassette/CD changer stereo. It is powered by Ford's 5.0L V8 rated at 220 HP with 9.0:1 compression and SEFI injection. The stout little small-block is backed by a 5-speed manual transmission and a Trac-Lock differential. Front suspension is independent MacPherson strut with stabilizer bars and the rear is a four-bar link with coils. This original Limited Edition Mustang will not be here long. Come take a closer look at this beautiful roadster.
As with any vehicle of this age and mileage there are some minor flaws which in my opinion add to it's character (Email me for more pictures), it is almost all original and I didn't want to change anything because of that. This is a fun car to drive, I find it to be the perfect color combination, and it gets much attention at the shows. VEHICLE IS SOLD ''AS IS''
