Vehicle Description
I'm selling my limited Classic 1993 Volvo 240 wagon for 2200! Car number 336/1600 models ever made! Bought this for a project and daily driver, but got way too over my head, and not having the resources to really work on the car. It runs and drives, and have been my daily since I bought it, and reliable, but does have minor issues to be 100% reliable.
The Bad:
Car stalls after starting and running for 30seconds, but keeping on the gas when the idle falls, for about a few minutes until the car warms up, it idles normally and consistently. Only drops sometimes afterward when brakes are pressed. This is all caused by a vacuum leak somewhere, once that's fixed this car will start and idle perfectly!
Starter is going out, but I have a brand new Duralast Gold straight off the shelf /, and is included with the car, just can't replace it myself at the moment.
Needs a headlight and a power window relay, which I have both. The brights work just fine, just normal headlights won't work. Turn signals and tail lights work fine tho.
No Brakelight due to a faulty Brakelight Switch, which I also own but just needs to be installed. ABS light is on because of this broken Brakelight switch, but will go away once the new one is installed!
Back door hatch needs a mechanism to lock properly, the door stays closed but doesn't technically have the ability to latch closed
Needs a new power steering pump
Brakes are very soft but does stop relatively well. Needs new rotors and maybe a booster.
Gas Guage doesn't work, and the temp Guage needs replacing, reads hot when it isn't, and fluctuates a lot when driving. Radiator could use a flush, but perfect otherwise, including the coolant hoses.
Odometer recently broke at 174k, but I bought the car with 173k. Only drove it for about a month and a half after it broke to work, which is a 10min commute. May need a new plastic cog part.
The Good:
The speedometer works and is accurate!
The Interior is near mint. No tears or cigarette burns. Missing a wooden trim piece for the dash, but the other 2 are there.
Dashboard has no cracks or fades
Heat works! But no AC
Engine is strong, and transmission is stronger! Shifts without a hiccup and no jolts or sounds either!
Carpets are amazing, and trunk carpeting is stainless.
VERY minimal rust for a 240, only some rust on the passenger door near the wheel, and some small rust on the rockers. Underside of this car is exceptionally clean for the age too!
If interested, just shoot me a message through text! Can't receive calls at the moment. More pics will be added once I'm back home, or if requested. Can send videos of car operating if needed! Thanks for reading!
