This Rover has been a southern vehicle it's entire life and was not driven during the winter in MN, so it is not rusted out like the majority of Rovers of this vintage. Prior to my purchase, someone put a TON of work and money in to this beast. Most importantly, it had a professionally rebuilt 4.6 from a Range Rover installed in place of the anemic stock 4.0 liter. It makes a HUGE difference, especially with the oversized wheels. My understanding is that the work was done by a Rover specialist a few years prior to my purchase. The 4.6 runs smoothly and quietly as it should. In addition, the 4-speed automatic was rebuilt by Aamco within the past few years and shifts beautifully. I replaced the exhaust as well as the front CV axles and wheel bearings last year prior to putting in winter storage. Clearly, the vehicle has a lift kit installed by a prior owner, though I do not know much about it - the shocks and springs appear to be a TerraFirma kit (which is a quality product, IMO), and are in nice shape. The safari rack is well done and appears to be a stock SD rack, and includes Hella lights and limb risers, which each can be quickly and easily removed if they are not to your taste. The interior is in nice shape for the age, and the seats appear to have been recovered at some point. A functioning CB radio has been installed, and the stereo is a more modern Pioneer CD unit.

The body on this Disco is solid, and the underbody is in above-average condition as are the wheel wells and rockers. The interior is in nice shape as shown in the photos. All power accessories work to the best of my knowledge. The heat is good and the AC blows cold. Seats are manually operated. Power windows and mirrors work fine. It comes with keyless entry as well. The fuel-injected 4.6 starts easily and runs smoothly with plenty of power. Cold starts are not a problem at all, will start easily even after sitting for days. No dash lights on, and idle is where it should be. With the lift, the handling isn't exactly sporty, but will cruise down the road / highway just fine. Brakes work as they should and there are no annoying squeaks, rattles, or clunks as you drive.

As an older vehicle, it is in no way perfect. Most notably, the paint on the hood is faded (as with most Rovers of this age), though the fading appears limited to the hood. The dash is warped, and the door card on the drivers side is in poor shape. There is a significant crack in the windshield. As seen on the pictures, the small filler panel between the headlight and bumper needs painted. The front left signal is out. The passenger side power door lock is a bit sticky. One of the tires needs air now and then.

All in all, this is a fun truck that gets a ton of attention and is a blast to own. I have not driven it more than a few blocks since taking out of winter storage, but I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. Oil is freshly changed and it should be ready to be enjoyed by the next owner. Please understand that it's a 20+ year old Land Rover, so if you are looking for a simple, reliable daily driver, this probably isn't for you - but it is a great weekend toy, or can be driven daily if you are willing to live with the quirks that accompany ownership of an older Land Rover.
