Vehicle Description
I got a new(er) compact hybrid car recently and no longer need this one. It still drives well, and in its current condition I was using it to commute 250 miles a week with no issues. I just wanted to invest in a car with better fuel economy given a longer commute to my new job.
In the past 30,000 miles I've replaced the timing belt, radiator, water pump, spark plugs, brake pads and calipers, tires, axle shafts, battery, and oxygen sensor. With regular oil changes and maintenance I have had no major problems or issues with reliability.
That being said, this car is not currently ready to pass inspection. In the interest of being as transparent as possible, I've listed the known imperfections below- none of which have had much effect on performance. This car has still been getting the originally rated ~22mpg which is a good sign mechanically.
Things that do/probably affect inspection:
-Check engine light on (from a faulty sensor, according to my mechanic).
-Transmission needs new inhibitor switch; It sometimes stalls when coming to a quick stop but starts right back up and hasn't affected driving reliability (stalling is rare enough that my mechanic couldn't duplicate it).
-Passenger side E-brake line removed (not affecting brake functionality).
Things that shouldn't affect inspection:
-Exhaust is somewhat loud.
-Moderate rust, but it has only been in VT for ~7 years so it could be much worse (previously MD/VA).
Things that won't affect inspection:
-Driver's door "open" sensor broken; needs overhead cabin light bulb (very minor)
-A/C not cold due to a refrigerant leak. The A/C condenser, general air/fan system, and heat work.
-No cruise control
-Passenger mirror and driver's visor fabric held with tape (aesthetic only)
-Minor aesthetic defects, but I think the car looks great for its age
It maybe seems like a long list, but I want to be as fair as possible and limit any surprises. I will honestly miss a lot of things about this car. It's been fun to own, and I've especially loved its relatively compact body size compared to how amazingly spacious the interior and cargo area is.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Clean title in hand. Thanks!
