Is a 2000 Corvette a good buy? Yes, the Corvette is an outstanding effort and competes favorably with the best in the class. . The 2000 Corvette is among the best true sports cars your money can buy.
First off it averages 24 to 27 MPG! The drag coefficient is the key to how it gets such good milage.
The C5 Corvette was redesigned from the ground up. The C5 was a completely new design that featured many new concepts and manufacturing breakthroughs that would be carried forward to the C6 & C7. It had a top speed of 176 mph (283 km/h) and was judged by the automotive press as a breakthrough with vastly improved dynamics in nearly every area over the previous C4 design. Innovations included a 0.29 drag coefficient, near 50/50 weight distribution, active handling (the first stability control for a Corvette). It also weighed less than the C4.
An all new LS1 aluminum engine (Gen III small block) featured individual ignition coils for each cylinder, and aluminum block and pistons. The new engine, combined with the new body, was able to achieve up to 28 mpg on the highway. There small cosmetic issues it has. (It is 21 years old) Still as a sports car it never saw bad weather and mostly summer time driving. It is a manual convertible top meaning no electric motor to fail and takes 2 to 3 minutes to put down or up. Battery is newer Interstate. Tires are next to new. Top is brand new and makes it look like a new car. Questions or further info please text me, 5 eight 5 Two 61 Two 0 Eight 7
