Vehicle Description
Offering my 2002 Range Rover 4.6L HSE (P38) for sale. This was the last model year of the second-generation Range Rover, commonly referred to as the P38. This is an impressive and luxurious 4x4 SUV that is a pleasure to drive (on and off road!) and runs and handles better than many new and modern SUVs. The Electronic Air Suspension (EAS) system functions properly and automatically lowers the vehicle at highway speeds. I have made several long road trips to and from Virginia to Northern New England since I have owned her. I purchased the vehicle from a private seller in Charlottesville, VA in 2017. This P38 has been very well maintained, always having been serviced by qualified Land Rover specialists, and includes a comprehensive and detailed file of service records including the original bill of sale and dealer window sticker. Since owning this vehicle, I have had the following major work done, aside from normal routine maintenance and lubrication service:
- Replaced Interior Headliner
- Replaced EAS Compressor for air suspension system
- Replaced Steering Damper
- Professional installation of new Pioneer stereo with Bluetooth/hands-free calling plus new amplifier and subwoofer
- Replaced drive belt and tensioner
- Replaced coolant recovery tank and hoses
- Replaced cooling system thermostat
- New Tires with 4-wheel alignment (Pirelli Scorpion Verde all-seasons) in February 2020
- 120k mile service performed in May 2020
- Spark plugs replaced in May 2020
Body: some minor body and wheel scratches and chips but otherwise in great condition. There is some slight rust on the tailpipes and mufflers, but body is rust free. This truck has aluminum front fenders, doors and tailgate panels. Some minor peeling of the clear coat on the hood.
Interior: Walnut leather seats are in great condition. Factory all-weather rubber floor mats.
Climate Control: A/C blows strong and cold. Electronic climate control display is pixelated and difficult to read and needs to be replaced. Heater core was bypassed in May 2020 and will require a new heater core for heat to function.
I relocated my family from the Washington DC Metro Area this summer to spend time on The Cape during the ongoing pandemic. Our family is growing and we now need a SUV with a third row. I am sad to be parting with my P38 as it has been a great vehicle and a joy to drive and own. I look forward to getting back into another Range Rover. The vehicle is currently registered in VA and has a clear title.
A great opportunity to own a Range Rover that is quickly becoming a sought after collectable.
