Vehicle Description
2003 Subaru Outback. The vehicle is registered in CA. I’m back and forth between Ashland and CA so feel free to contact me if you’re seriously interested (text preferred) and we’ll work out a way to view and test drive.
The vehicle’s California catalytic converter is currently showing a P0420 check engine light code. It drives great and the code simply means the exhaust is not being filtered by the cat well enough for California’s emission standards. Here in OR that shouldn’t matter as there are no smog tests. If you’d like a new cat, those are also much cheaper in OR and a shop will install you a new one for a few hundred bucks.
I have very recently (in the past few thousand miles) installed new front struts, new brake pads and rotors on all four wheels, and changed the oil. Registration paid through July 2022. Tires have about 60% life left and the car is reliable. Head gasket was replaced at around 170,000 and valve cover gaskets done around 195,000. She burns a little oil as most old cars do, but just keep an eye on it and top off as needed.
I built and will include a custom foldable bed that collapses into the trunk of the car. Great for sleeping in the car on trips. The bed is 6’6” when fully extended and I’ve slept on it many nights at my height of 6’4”. Also included are custom cut reflectix insulating window inserts for privacy and heat. See pics for the bed setup. The whole bed is removable if you’d like to take it in and out. Can sleep on it with camping mattress pads easily or find a roll up topper that you travel with if you’d like.
Oil changed every 5 to 7k miles. 4wd works great. I have a spreadsheet with the maintenance I’ve performed on the vehicle for the time I’ve owned it.
Please text or call if interested: 707-nine three three-7637. If as is up it’s still available.
