Vehicle Description
I have a 2006 VW Jetta GLI for sale. Bought it in 2014 when I was a college student to help save on gas as I was driving a truck at the time, and also wanted something small for in town. It is a very fun car to drive! It has the exact same powertrain, suspension, and brakes as the GTI hatchbacks but it is a sedan. 2.0 FSI turbo engine and 6spd manual transmission. 30+ mpg on the highway easy! Roomy for a small car, comfortable, lots of options, surprisingly large trunk, and safe (top safety pick for 2006 with side curtain airbags). Besides for one thing (lumbar support for front seats) EVERYTHING works!
THE GOOD - 4 new tires all around, both front brakes recently replaced, new headliner, new battery, new windshield wipers. Clutch was replaced at 108k miles, so there is plenty of life left. Mechanically sound, would drive anywhere today with no hesitation. Leather interior, no rips or tears, heated seats, cruise control, floor mats, sunroof, factory tinted windows, cold AC, hot heat, dual zone for front passengers. 3 sets of keys! 2 remote fobs and 1 spare.
THE BAD - Exterior is the worst part of the car, there are plenty of dents/scrapes from door checks, bikes, and shopping carts living on university grounds and in town. The worst is back bumper passengers side, another car was backing into a parking space and hit (in pictures). The paint on the bumper by the exhaust is faded? Stained? Idk its weird, guessing from the heat of the exhaust. All wheels have curb rash, some small some more so. Overall, nothing major and all superficial, most cant be seen until up close. Interior the drivers seat has a wear spot on the outside bolster from getting in/out but not worn through. As mentioned before, the lumbar support for both front seats doesn't work. Apparently it is a common problem and you have to tear the seats apart to fix so I haven't done it, I have always been comfortable for short/long trips. Radio works but the display is fading, hard to see during the day but fine at night.
Bought it in 2014 and only put about 30k miles on it. I am the 3rd owner. Clean and clear title in my name. Only selling because I never drive it anymore, I have family now with another on the way and it is just slightly too small. Also, if I'm honest, I am about 60lbs heavier than when I bought it lol. Would make a great first car, city car, commuter car, or for a small family. Open to offers, but not going to give it away.
