Vehicle Description
This 2007 Rabbit is a clean and very-fun-to-drive, 2 door with a 5 cylinder / 2.5 liter engine, 5 speed standard transmission, AC, cruise control, new clutch and other recent services detailed below, original VW 6 speaker sound system (stereo has a 3.5mm headphone jack cell phone cable). CARFAX report shows no accidents or damage (will email full report on request). Odometer reads 129,209 miles.
Our son drove this car in his last year of college in Tacoma, Wa. and my plan was to use it as a daily commuter from Santa Cruz. Then Covid happened and now I work from home. Sad to sell this as it is such a blast to drive but we have too many cars.
Service Record
I have receipts for all oil changes and service work we've performed in the 3 1/2 years we've owned the car:
- 09 / 2019: New clutch installed, only 4K miles on the odometer since then
- 01 / 2020: Replaced rear main engine seal, valve cover (this engine has no oil leaks!), new brake vacuum pump
- 04 / 2020: New clutch master cylinder, new ignition lock cylinder
- Previous service records show in the CARFAX report
Highlights
- Registered through September 2022
- SMOG good through January 2023 (this was re-smog tested because CA requires a smog test now to sell a car)
- Air conditioning blows cold
- AM / FM / CD (MP3) stereo works great (6 speakers, it rocks!). Bonus 3.5mm headphone input cable allows AUX stereo input from any cell phone with a 3.5mm headphone jack (this was in the car when we bought it, the cable should reach a cell phone in a dashboard mounted holder)
- Tires have 1/4 tread in the front, a bit more in the back
- Full size spare tire (holds air, never used), factory jack and tools
- Cable chains that are the correct size for the tires on this car (new, never used)
- Gas shocks on hood and hatchback work great
Lowlights (see pictures)
- Windshield crack, it's below the dashboard so not visible while driving
- Headliner is sagging a bit in the front but is clean with no holes
- Only 1 key fob (wireless entry remote), there's also a hide-a-key (opens door but won't start engine)
- Lost title, the DMV will send a new one when the ownership is transferred so not really an issue
- Headlight on/off switch has a cracked trim surround
- Paint has worn off the driver's side window switches (they work fine)
