Turns out the engine is toast in this bad boy, so it won’t be getting repaired. Looking to get whatever I can for it from someone who could use the parts. Cosmetically it’s pretty good, straight body panels, decent paint, and intact, good condition interior. Trans, front end, and rear end are good. Tires are almost new Goodyear Wrangler all seasons with about 5k on them, and the alloy wheels are in good shape. 1300 or best offer!! Feel free to lowball!
Clean title is with the Jeep at Midas.
Other details are below:
-2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
-164xxx miles, we are the second owners. First owner meticulously changed the oil at the dealership every 3-5k miles and we did the same, but in my garage. We bought it at 103k in 2017 and it has been almost all highway miles since then.
-Full time 4wd/AWD, with locked low range 4x4.
-Rear backup sensors with LED range indicators and beeping as you approach your trailer or an obstacle
. Has saved my behind on multiple occasions. Autodimming rear view mirror, and powered heated side mirrors all work great.
-Hill descent mode, traction control disengage button, tow haul mode, two 12v cigarette lighter outlets, and one 110v household style plug. Super handy.
-Tow package including hitch, tow/haul mode, and transmission and oil cooler. Lights work.
-New Goodyear Wrangler all season tires (about 5k miles on them. Great in the snow, sand, and dirt. Brakes were done in summer 2018 and are currently at 30% according to Midas.
-4.7L V8 Magnum engine, totally toast according to Midas in Sheridan.
-5 spd automatic transmission with overdrive. Clear fluid, tight shifts. Rear end pinion has a very slight leak. AWD/4Lo work great. Rides well and steers tight.
-All leather interior. Driver and passenger heated and power seats. Front and side curtain airbags. Airbag light is on intermittently due to a touchy mainspring in the steering column, but airbag function is not affected. AC blows cold and heat and defrost blows hot.
-3 year old Pioneer touchscreen infotainment system with hands free Bluetooth, navigation and audio through USB, remote control, and a CD/DVD player. Rear backup camera
-Working power sunroof. No leaks! All windows, doors, and locks function correctly, including tailgate window and tailgate. Wipers and squirters front and back work perfectly, but you’ll notice a little epoxy/cable tie repair on the rear wiper arm. It works. :)
- Decent white paint. Clear coat is good. Mild cosmetic damages, scratches, etc. missing some black plastics from under the front bumper, resulting in greater ground clearance up front. Looks good from 10 feet when it’s clean and not broken down in the middle of a 2000 mile drive. ;)
~~Sob Story~~
So the most inconvenient thing happened last month.
While relocating to a new military base, our beloved Grand Cherokee blew its headgasket, plus overheated pretty badly by the looks of the insides of the engine, pulling a Uhaul up a hill 20 miles from Sheridan.
Unfortunately I had to get to my new duty station ASAP and didn’t have time to sit around waiting for our Jeep to be repaired, so I bought a used truck to get me and my Uhaul the rear of the way.
The Jeep is currently sitting at Midas, they’ve quoted me about 8k for a upgraded remanufactured Jasper motor; it would have a 3yr/100k mile warranty. If you wanted to go with that option this Jeep would be a good investment for you, since the rest has plenty of life in it. I have been informed that the engine currently in it is pretty much unrepairable, but you’re free to try, or find a used engine yourself. Otherwise this would be a good part-out car, or try to make a profit at auction or a scrapyard of your choice. Unfortunately I live in Washington now and don’t have time to do any of this myself, so my loss your gain.
Go ahead and lowball me, the worst I can do is say no.
