Why This Vehicle is Special

The Packard Eighteenth Series One-Ten was a range of six-cylinder automobiles produced by the Packard Motor Car Company of Detroit, Michigan during the 1940 and 1941 model years. The One-Ten designation was renamed from the previous Packard Fifteenth Series Six.

The One-Ten shared the wheelbase of the One-Twenty but was given the One-Ten designation to indicate it was the entry level product.

Packard reintroduced a line of six-cylinder cars in 1937 after a ten-year absence as a response to the economic depression and ongoing recovery cycle in the United States. As an independent automaker, Packard could not look to other internal divisions to support its luxury models, so the inclusion of the Six, and the later One-Ten, was necessary to aid in supporting the firm's bottom line until better times returned.

Still, the reintroduction of the Six could not have come at a better time for the automaker, just prior to the nation's 1938 economic depression. By offering the less expensive model, the company was able to attract buyers who would otherwise be unable to purchase more expensive cars.

"Rare Pre War limited production 1942 Packard Convertible 110's are such limited production cars due to WW2 efforts which began on February 6th 1942, when all production was ceased on domestic vehicles and full effort was concentrated on military vehicles.

Mechanical

Power for the One-Ten came from a 4.0L inline six engine backed by a 3-speed manual transmission. Everything was rebuilt or replaced, and special care was taken to improve the engine during the rebuild with all peripheral components rebuilt or replaced.

The engine has all the factory correct parts and looks it as it and the engine compartment is painted, detailed, and looks like it just drove off the dealer's showroom floor.

Interior

Drop the tan cloth convertible power top and you will see the lovely two-tone interior of beige and red leather with a split bench seat and matching door panels as well as the similar painted dash with a column shift, chrome shifter, chrome radio above the accented speaker in the middle of the dash, the intricately designed banjo style steering wheel, and square knob pulls, factory clock, and it all exudes Packard luxury.

The trunk is clean and spacious for car shows chairs and cooler and inside is a matching white wall spare tire.

Exterior

This Car was pure luxury in 1942 and is just as classy as they come today. This Packard is painted in a stunning bright red paint that pairs nicely with the tan canvas top with glass back window. The Chrome accents that adorn this car from front to rear really make it a head spinner.

The hood ornament is as lovely swan with its wings spread above it that really fits the feel of this car. It rides on wide white wall reproduction tires that are mounted on painted steel wheels with chrome Packard caps and running boards.
