Vehicle Description
Price Reduced!! Gotta go! This is a two owner car, literally owned by “the little old lady from Pasadena, CA (like the Beach Boys song) My mom, who just turned 90 last August bought this car 5/5/81 and has treasured it since. As a stock broker, she drove either this, her 1931 Model A, or her 1972 Garelli scooter 3 blocks to work. In 2000, I bought her a new Saturn to get around in, so this was a hanger queen for 17 years. 97,000 true miles. Yellow exterior with factory green (her favorite color) interior. New Michelin tires. The convertible electric powered canvass soft top was replaced about 3 years ago. It works like a charm. Same for the carpet and floor mats. Of course, the convertible hard top with its included storage rack makes the car elegantly versatile. The car had lots of prep work done before putting it up for sale including A/C service. It was appraised in 2007 by an appraiser with 10 certifications and credentials and his “Summary Comments” are “This vehicle has been well maintained and remains in excellent condition. I rate it as a No. 2 Show Condition Vehicle. All it needs is a good detailing thru out.” He assigned a 2007 cash value of $24,500. Always garaged. Non-smoker. Meticulous records including original window sticker, 1981 bill of sale, tool kit, first aid kit, maintenance records, and at least 8 enthusiasts’ books about Mercedes Benz. Mom made a big deal about the fact that the title had been clouded to conceal the previous owner, so she was convinced it was owned by some Hollywood big-shot, but we have not been able to prove anything. This is a beautiful, classic car in great shape. Now it just needs to go.
