Not taking very long to sell, the car was delivered to its first owner on January 4th, 1990. John Hockin of Southern California became the first caretaker of the Ferrari Mondial. A collector of Mondials, Hockin would drive the car sparingly as he had multiples of the same car, keeping this special example the most pristine. He added less than 580 miles over the course of 27 years, having the car serviced at Ferrari of Newport Beach and when not driving it kept it inside of his storage unit to preserve the car.
