Vehicle Description
CSX5220 Clean, One Owner CarFax Just over 6,300 actual miles (Box A, Arizona title) 1 of approximately 60 factory supercharged cars – out of 249 total Fantastic paperwork trail; Shelby American Bill of Sale, Statement of Origin, registration, emission paperwork, factory-installed supercharger and brake upgrade receipts and more Fresh detail -- SALE PENDING -- Carroll Shelby was involved in the production of numerous performance machines in his lifetime, but only one was created from the ground up by the legend himself. That car was the Shelby Series 1, developed in the late 1990s as a modern successor to Shelby’s infamous Cobra. Developed using the best of modern engineering and construction techniques, it sported a high-strength all-aluminum chassis, modern carbon-fiber bodywork and a Shelby-modified Oldsmobile Aurora 320hp twin-cam L47 V8 engine. Shelby offered an optional supercharged option that bumped horsepower to a breathtaking 450, with a claimed 0-60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. A look at the engine compartment reveals the attention to detail Shelby put into the slick under-hood packaging. Yet with all these high-performance features, the Series 1 was still a comfortable car, with a folding soft-top and power side windows, power steering, power disc brakes, factory air conditioning, and a Monsoon sound system. This example, CSX5220, was ordered and delivered to the current owner and has just over 6,300 miles from new. All documentation was thoughtfully saved, including the original order form, letters from Shelby American, Bill of Sale, Statement of Origin, original Nevada title, copies of all registration and emission paperwork, factory-installed supercharger and brake upgrade receipts and more. The car now has an Arizona “Box A” actual mileage title and a clean CARFAX. The interior is in very good shape, and the soft-top fits very well. With the beautiful Centennial Silver three-piece forged aluminum Carroll Shelby wheels, it remains a stunning automobile, and its performance figures are still in line with some of the hottest supercars of today. A total of 249 production Series 1s were built, and this was one of approximately 60 factory supercharged versions ‒ making it extraordinarily rare and collectible from the moment it was created.
